Abstract

In this paper, the inverse problem of the determination of an unknown discontinuous parameter in elliptic equations is considered. A constrained optimization problem is formulated using the TV regularization and a specified selection term, in order to absorb the effect of noise and singularities. The discretization scheme used in this work is a combined finite element/volume method, then we establish the discrete version of optimization problem. The convergence and stability analysis are performed in term of noise level and diameter of singular set. We have considered the projected Wolfe algorithm to design our proposed minimization method. At the end we show some numerical experiments to prove the validity of theoretical results and the efficiency of the proposed method. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
