In this paper we will discuss the effects and influences of Lacan's dialogue with different representatives of the English and French schools of psychoanalysis in their elaborations on mental anorexia. In addition to the contributions of classical psychiatrists and Freud, the developments of authors such as Anna Freud, Klein, Winnicott, Dolto and Aulagnier find echoes in the various mentions and approaches that Lacan made about anorexia. We will dedicate a section to each of the main points in which these authors inquired about the subject. Then, we will discuss the approximations and disagreements between them as well as with Lacan's conceptualizations. Some conclusions as well as subsequent lines of investigation will be delimited from the discussion process itself. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
