- The article provides literary criticism to poems of Emily Dickinson and influence of poet R.W. Emerson on his writing. Topics discusses include exploration by feminist critics on social powerlessness in Dickinson's poetry, structure and distinctive language of Dickinson's poems, connection between Daoism, Chan Buddhism, and the works of both R.W. Emerson and Dickinson, Dickinson's exploration of cultivation, meditation, and spontaneous action.
