Örgütsel İmrenme ve İmrenilme: Akademisyenler Üzerinde Bir Araştırma ve Ölçek Uyarlaması.

This study aims to research the levels of envy and being envied in an organization of academic staff whose reasons for envy and being envied are academic output and achievements. Likewise, investigating the differentiation of levels for envy and being envied according to demographic features and detecting whether there is a relation between envy and being envied are among the aims of this paper. The data was gathered from academics of Yozgat Bozok University using the survey method. According to the research sample data from 208 valid survey participants, it is precipitated that the academicians' levels of being envied are found medium while their envy levels are found low. Furthermore, significant differentiations were detected regarding being envied variable according to age, educational level, title, salary range, marital status, and working hours. On the other hand, considering the envy variable, significant differentiation was found according to features like title, salary range and working hours. No significant differentiation was found as for gender. Besides these, a significant, negative and robust relation between envy and being envied was detected regarding the research results. In order to set an example for their associate workers, the academic staffs, who are considered to be envied, can keep the academic satisfaction at a high level in order to increase or continue their academic activities as it is possible for the envying academic staffs being in dense academic activities and increasing their contribution to science.
