In this study, the understanding of the prophethood of Zamakshari, who wrote treatises in numerous fields, including İslamic theology (kalam), has been examined. The connection of the thinker with Mu'tazila whose were accepted rationalists of İslam, makes conceptions like prophethood, revelation, and miracle essential to discuss. Because at present, objections are made to the institution of prophethood with claiming that reason alone is sufficient in the context of deism debates. Considering these objections, to see how the issues such as the possibility, necessity, and proof of the institution of prophethood were grounded in the historical process will be like lamps that enlighten our way for contemporary researchers. From this point of view, it aims to reveal how Zamakshari dropped prophethood in the historical process and criticized whose opposition to the prophethood. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
