Abstract
- The ties between Francis Dhomont and Annette Vande Gorne, both passionate acousmatists and pedagogues, have animated the development of a new body of works and left their mark on both the Quebec and the Belgian acousmatic landscapes, especially between 1980 and the end of the 1990s. This paper traces Dhomont's and Vande Gorne's complicit path through the most signi- ficant moments of this period. It reveals a deep attachment to sound space and its variations in spatialized concerts, as well as to innovative teaching approaches. The account of their respective remarkable careers is punctuated by important, reflexive contributions that define what distinguishes and characterizes acousmatic music. Finally, the paper recounts the events and collaborations that provided the young acousmatic musicians of the day with the opportunity to perfect their art and to circulate their music in Europe and North America.
