Photocatalytic degradation of malachite green dye by using β-cyclodextrin based nanocomposites.

Research work reports the synthesis method of nanocomposite ZnO/CuO/β-CD and it is characterized by X-ray diffraction and UV-vis absorption spectra. Photocatalytic activity of nanocomposite is measured by using organic dye Malachite Green (MG) as model pollutant. Dye degradation follow pseudo first order kinetics. Efficiency of photocatalytic process is measured by percentage degradation. Rate constant and band gap of nanocomposite is also calculated. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
