Abstract
- The article outlines the steps to becoming an antiracist educator in the U.S. Topics include the prevalence of racism and discrimination experienced by African American students at public and private schools in the U.S., the impact of this racial trauma on the students and the importance for teachers to be aware of, critique and examine their beliefs and assumptions about Black students. Also mentioned is the need for educators to understand how schools oppress and marginalize these students.
