Abstract

Strategic and systemic use of biocide is a requirement to mitigate the problem of resistance along with decrease frequency of treatment. Therapeutic and persistent efficacy of single subcutaneous injection of long acting Ivermectin at a concentration of 630 μg/kg b.wt. (1ml/50 kg b.wt.) was able to eliminate 88.11%, 96.12% and 99.89% of tick infestation on 3rd, 7th and 28th post treatment days, respectively while the persistent efficacy lasted for 65 days.
