Abstract
- The article explores solutions to challenges in translating data on medical needs, population vulnerabilities, physical and medical infrastructure, human mobility, and environmental conditions into improved disaster response in the U.S. Topics discussed include the inadequacy of public health preparedness and disaster response, the need for appropriate analytical tools to support data integration into outputs for medical needs decision making, and importance of reliable vulnerability maps.
