FlorealData : Des traits de vie d'espèces végétales pour le calcul d'indices agronomiques et écologiques des communautés prairiales.

The agroecological transition of livestock systems in grassland areas leads us to better reconcile two complementary disciplines that are ecology and agronomy. The strong decline of the permanent grassland, despite the environmental challenges it represents, has led the National Botanical Conservatory of the Pyrénées and Midi-Pyrénées (CBNMP) and the National Research Institute for Agriculture, Food and Environment of Toulouse (INRAE) to gather in a regional database the life traits of grassland species, necessary for the calculation of agroecological indices. This database brings together for each species (768) attributes from phytosociology and ecology on the one hand and a functional approach to vegetation for agronomy on the other. From a phytosociological survey, these attributes make it possible to calculate the indices necessary for better agroecological management of permanent grasslands. Initially designed for the territory of Midi-Pyrénées, most of these indices are generic enough to be used in other French regions. This database is evolving and we give the construction rules for each attribute so that future users can complete the list for new species encountered.
