CİNSİYETİN DİNDARLIK ÜZERİNE ETKİSİ: BİR META ANALİZ ÇALIŞMASI.

In the research, the impact of the gender on religiosity with reference to graduate thesis conducted in Turkey has been tried to put forward by the meta-analysis. For this purpose, the database of the Council of Higher Education National Thesis Center was first scanned. The screening was performed using the key words "dindarlık", "dini inanç", "dini yönelim", "dini motivasyon", "dini tutum" "religiosity", "religious belief", "religios oriention", "religional motivations" and "religious attitudes". As a result of the last screening process carried out on February 24, 2020, 1790 graduate theses containing keywords were reached. Subsequently, the studies were handled according to the criteria determined by the researchers. It was seen that 168 studies had appropriate data for metaanalysis. However, since 9 of the studies included two different data, each data was included in the study as a different study. Thus, the number of studies included in the study was 177. 131 of the studies are master's thesis, 36 of them are doctoral thesis and one is specialty thesis in medicine. The research sample consists of a total of 83460 people, 42494 women (50.9%), 40966 men (49.1%). The effect size (Cohen d,) in the study was calculated using the publication bias and heterogeneity test The Comprehensive Meta-Analysis Software V.2 (CMA V.2) package program. As a result of the meta-analysis made in the random effects model; according to the classification of Thalheimer and Cook (2002), it has been observed that gender has an insignificant level significant effect on religiousness in favor of women (d= .064, p<.05).
