Abstract

The article reports on the decision by a New York City court to exonerate Muhammad A. Aziz and Khalil Islam following a review led by Manhattan district attorney Cyrus R. Vance Jr. over the 1965 assassination of influential African American civil rights leader Malcolm X. According to Ameen Johnson, the ruling is bittersweet as his father Islam was already dead. Vance also claimed that former U.S. Federal Bureau of Investigation head J. Edgar Hoover ordered the suppression of some information.
