Abstract
- The article discusses the letter sent by English poet John Masefield to several students of Monkton Combe Junior School in Somerset, England in the mid-1950s. Topics explored include the way Masefield responded to the letter of appreciation he received from the students, his vision for the poem "Cargoes," which he described to the recipients of his letter, and the explanation Masefield offered about the trade routes of Nineveh merchants.
