Abstract

Malignancy-induced ascites is usually low-SAAG ascites.4 However, the SAAG of our case was above 11 g/L. It should be noted that patients with mixed ascites often have high-gradient ascites. Due to a medical history of hepatitis B-related liver cirrhosis and an ascites puncture examination basically conformed to high SAAG, we initially considered this case as cirrhotic ascites.
