Abstract
- The conception of the indigenous university student is called into question when it takes place in the realm of academic perceptions inherited by colonialism. In this sense, this paper confers an open look at the identity reconstruction of the young indigenous person inserted in an environment of university academic studies. The theoretical reference is James Côté's concept of the identity capital. The methodology is framed in the reflective praxis of two pieces of research developed in the same space of academic guidance and through the life stories of students from different communities. It is not shown as a research report in itself but as an analytical excerpt from both projects. The results are descriptions of their self-conceptions and the training actions that are the product of their actions and decisions. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
