Abstract
- This study investigated whether a shortened procedure called Active Geriatric Evaluation (AGE) in primary care practices for individuals over 75 years old captures the relevant factors and whether appropriate measures can slow down functional decline. The AGE instrument annually assessed the performance of activities of daily living and screened participants for geriatric syndromes. However, the study found no significant difference in the loss of independence among patients who used the AGE instrument compared to the Usual Care group. The authors suggest that more comprehensive counseling by an interprofessional team may potentially lead to better outcomes. [Extracted from the article]
