Filosofía del deporte. Contradicción y lógicas del entrenador en deportes de equipo.

Sport has become a "universal" leisure, commercial and media activity. Team sports could help to better understand the character of sport (Ehrenberg, 1991). In this paper, the paradoxical functions of the coach are analyzed, ranging between the orientation of collective performance and the enhancement of the preference or talent of the other team members; in order to do this, the following points are analyzed: exclusion/inclusion; coach/team; training/competition; defense/attack; inside/outside; game/player; starters/alternates; reason/faith; victory/defeat. From the understanding of this paradoxical activity it will be possible to forward relevant conclusions for the training of the youngest coaches. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
