Abstract
- The article presents the discussion on Turkish predicament. Topics include sparked by the Turkish government's decree re-designating the Hagia Sophia a mosque with an official announcement by President Erdoǧan on July 10, 2020; foreseen the conquest of Constantinople by Islam and the conversion of Hagia Sophia into a mosque; and presenting as one of national sovereignty rather than an Islamic cause where leadership being the main secular opposition party.
