Developmental biology in China (Part 1).

These papers, together with several more to be published in a future special issue, offer the Japanese developmental biology audience and international readers of I DGD i a glimpse into Chinese developmental biology communities. The first one, "Developmental Biology in China (Part 1)", will feature one research article (Xu et al., 2022), one review article (Ma & Mao, 2022), and one historical review (Huang et al., 2022). Huang et al. (2022) give a comprehensive overview of the history and current state of developmental biology in China and highlight some of research activities carried out by members of its community.
