Abstract
- A relation that takes into account all the main mechanisms of the effect of particles on gas turbulence is obtained for the first time using the two-parameter turbulence model for a two-phase flow. The expression found makes it possible to analyze the effect of particles on the turbulence energy of the carrier phase in a wide range of inertia. It is shown that the turbulizing effect of extremely low-inertia particles (nanoparticles) is replaced by the laminarizing effect of low-inertia particles (microparticles), and, then again, is replaced by the turbulizing effect due to the additional generation of turbulence in the wakes behind large particles (macroparticles).
