Abstract

Pulse oximetry is commonly used in patients who are critically ill in order to help titrate oxygen delivery. We aimed to investigate the accuracy of peripheral pulse oximetry in patients who were critically ill with COVID-19 pneumonitis and were receiving invasive mechanical ventilation and to determine if this was affected by patient ethnicity. Effect of patient ethnicity on the accuracy of peripheral pulse oximetry in patients with COVID-19 pneumonitis requiring mechanical ventilation. [Extracted from the article]
