In October 2017, the LibraryLab was created in the Central Library of the Public Libraries of the city of Düsseldorf. The area began as an open experimentation platform and a place for visitors and the team to get creative and try things out, and was relaunched in 2021 in the Central Library in KAP1, which opened at a new location and with a new concept. Through the experiences of the last few years, it has matured from a prototype to a service that is firmly anchored in the overall concept of the Central Library, while at the same time always remaining ready to develop further and grow with the needs of the visitors.
