Abstract

The article presents the discussion on COVID-19 long-term care facility shutdowns and fears escalating a trend for certified volunteer ombudsmen (CVO) resignations and retirements. Topics include ombudsmen trained in social work being a natural alliance between ombudsmen and LTC facility social workers; and loss of CVO-driven complaint data representing a critical loss of information informing systems advocacy.
