From the medical point of view, it is important to individualize the therapeutic treatment to the patient. Drugs that work perfectly in a particular population can be lethal to an individual patient, for example in a situation where he is allergic to a given active substance. Importantly, this issue is also important from the legal perspective, because the applicable legal regulations impose an obligation on the doctor to provide the patient with services in accordance with the current medical knowledge. This obligation includes the need to individualize therapy, in particular pharmacotherapy, because the effectiveness and safety of the pharmacotherapy used is not an absolute concept.
