Abstract
- A literary criticism of the book "Rapture and Melancholy: The Diaries of Edna St. Vincent Millay," edited by Daniel Mark Epstein is presented. It explores the reputation of poet Millay, the foreword written by scholar Holly Peppe, the effects of domestic labor on Millay as revealed in the diaries compiled in the book, the childhood experience of Millay, and a carpe-diem attitude adopted by Millay.
