Abstract: The article focuses on the struggles of independent judges, lawyers and anti-corruption investigators in Guatemala following the expel of the International Commission Against Impunity by former Guatemalan President Jimmy Morales. Topics discussed include the decision of former judge Erika Aifán to leave the country after facing a systematic campaign against her, and the efforts of the Guatemalan public prosecutor's office in conducting investigations against these judges and lawyers.
