Abstract
- The production of dialkyl ethers is based on the interaction of alcohols with iso-olefins, which have limited resources nowadays. In the meantime, Russian oil refineries have a huge resource potential for thermal gasoline having high content of unsaturated compounds. Highly unsaturated hydrocarbon fractions are characterized by low chemical stability. Their addition to commercial fuels deteriorates its properties, further processing causes rapid poisoning of the catalyst, as a result, they are not used commercially in industry. However, they present potentially valuable feedstock for the synthesis of oxygen-containing components of motor fuels - dialkyl ethers, which improve their environmental and operational properties. Current research is devoted to study the possibility of synthesizing of dialkyl ethers via interaction of normal olefins with ethyl alcohol. The results obtained confirm the possibility of the formation of dialkyl ethers based on normal olefins. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
