Metodologías para seleccionar proveedores en la cadena de suministro de la minería del cobre en Chile.

The main objective of the present study is to characterize the methodologies employed to select suppliers in the supply chain of copper mining companies in Chile. The case study approach is applied and data is gathered in the year 2021 by surveying executives from copper-producing mining companies in Chile. The results show that mining companies have a supplier selection process with a high degree of evaluation and analysis. It considers economic, social, and environmental criteria. It also uses support management technologies and multi-criteria decision methods (MCDM) such as SMART, AHP, and ANP. It is concluded that copper mining companies use sustainable supplier selection methodologies for their supply chain, which increases the added value of mining businesses in Chile.
