The article presents a clinical study about a girl named Samira and her process of psychoanalytic analysis. It analyzes how the failures in Samira's internal object stability are a consequence of the erratic presence/absence of her external objects. The analysis lasted approximately two years and it was found that the analytical work favored the strengthening of Samira's capacity for emotional containment, thinking, and symbolization.
