Abstract

A preparation of basic manganese carbonate containing manganite MnO(OH), rhodochrosite MnCO3, and bixbyite Mn2O3 reacts with nitrilotriacetic acid to give low-solubility manganese compound Mn[N(CH2COO)2(CH2COOH)] · 2H2O (manganese nitriloacetate dihydrate) in the form of whisker microcrystals. An alternative method for the preparation of the compound is the reaction of manganese(ii) sulfate with nitrilotriacetic acid disodium salt. This compound can be converted into a water-soluble form by the treatment with organic amines as solubility promoters. The effect of the manganese-containing compounds on the biometric parameters of seedlings of the Zlata spring wheat was studied. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
