The article presents the discussion on deep carbon exhuming by volcanic rift between Greenland and Europe. Topics include researchers invoking exotic mechanisms such as catastrophic releases of methane from the sea floor or even asteroid strikes; and fossil records showing trees migrated uphill and to higher latitudes.
