Abstract: The article presents an account of the book "Direct Analysis," by John N. Rosen. The book is a series of papers written by a psychiatrist to illustrate the application of psychoanalysis to psychotics by the direct analysis and interpretation of psychotic unconscious contents. Selected cases are presented with discussion by the author and other psychiatrists.
