Abstract

This article presents information on patients with traumatic head injuries. Shipley-Hartford, initially designed as a measure of intellectual deterioration, has received considerable attention as an intellectual screening instrument. IQ scores obtained from several methods of scoring the Shipley-Hartford were compared with WAIS Full-Scale IQ in a sample of 40 patients with traumatic head injury. The results suggest that use of the Paulson and Lin age-corrected table was the most efficient method to predict WAIS IQ.
