Abstract

Background: En masse retraction of the anterior teeth may create anchorage problems. The effective means of obtaining anchorage in en masse retraction is by the usage of temporary anchorage devices. Aims and Objectives: The purpose of this study is focused on stress and strain created around miniscrew during en masse retraction using the cone beam computed tomography (CBCT) data obtained at two intervals and by the finite element analysis done using the CBCT data obtained. This will show us the stress and strain created around miniscrews and the withstanding capacity of miniscrews. Conclusion: Stress and strain was higher in TADs as compared to cortical and alveolar bone. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
