Brachylogy which is one of the meanings of Eloquence means to express something with few words. In science of Eloquence it means to express the word with few words. Periphrasis which is one of the meaning concept of Eloquence means to exaggerate in science of Eloquence it means to express less meanings with more words. Brachylogy and Periphrasis appeared during Pre-Islamic period (Jahiliyya), it was used during the first years of the Islam and was conceptualised during the period of Abbasid and was used as a subject in the field of literature. The priority claim between Brachylogy and Periphrasis is not proper. Because each one has its specific rules. The proper İtnab is same as proper İcaz.
