LETTERS FROM JENNY REVISITED: THE COMPUTER CONTENT ANALYSIS REDONE.

This article presents information on text of Allport's letters from Jenny which was reanalyzed by computer. Permission was obtained from the American Psychological Association to convert the text of the letters to a computer file. When the file had been created, the frequencies of all words used were determined by counting on the computer. Note that all computer results reported in this paper were obtained independently through the use of both Fortran and Snobol computer programs, so that one may be reasonably certain of their accuracy. For those interested in details of the computations, it should be remarked that running times with Snobal were immense.
