Abstract

In this article, the author seeks to open discussions regarding the role of the government of Violeta Barrios de Chamorro (1990-1997) in dealing with the legacy of violence in the Sandinista revolution in order to continue generating explanations about the systematic nature of political violence in the country and its weight in democratization until the civil explosion of 2018. For this, various "skillful speeches" of the Chamorro government are analyzed through which a "framed" institutional memory was established. Concluding with the proposal of "dimensioning" violence, making note of various tasks to democratize Nicaraguan memory. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
