Abstract

In various fields of science, crime has various meanings and concepts related to the spatial and social aspects. The aspect in this context is the morphology of the area and the spatial activities of the community in the environment itself. In the city of Semarang, the location with a high number of crimes is in the city center, namely the Central Semarang District. The city center in the sub-district functions as a central office area of Semarang City which has a significant change in activity patterns, but in fact this area has a crime problem that needs to be solved. recommended criteria and concepts for regional planning that can overcome crimes in the Jalan Pahlawan area of Semarang City. This study uses a descriptive research method with the analytical technique used is morphological analysis technique to analyze the morphology of the Jalan Pahlawan area and behavior mapping to analyze the activities that occur and the analysis will be summarized using character assessment techniques to produce area-specific criteria. The results of this study indicate that the Jalan Pahlawan area has characters, including changes in the pattern of activities in the area, making the area less supervised in the early hours of the morning, and the lack of lighting at night makes the image of the area not alive at night. This will create a sense of fear of cream in the area. This is the basis for drafting the concept/design of the Jalan Pahlawan area. Of course, in this writing, it can be considered as an effort to prevent criminal acts through environmental design. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
