Abstract
- Majority of jejunal diverticulum is asymptomatic, but 10-30% presented with intestinal haemorrhage, small bowel perforation, diverticulitis, abscess, intestinal obstruction and malabsorption.4 Jejunal diverticulum only contributes approximately 3% of all gastrointestinal bleeding. The most common cause in elderly is angiodysplasia.1 However, the current case with small bowel bleeding arising from jejunal diverticulum presented with a massive gastrointestinal bleeding resulting in an urgent laparotomy with jejunum resection.
