Age‐friendly learning health systems: Opportunities for model synergy and care improvement.

The article outlines opportunities for synergy between Age-Friendly Health Systems (AFHS) and Learning Health Systems (LHS) models to improve the quality of care delivered to older adults. It suggests pairing the measurement model of AFHS and data infrastructure principles of LHS. Policy mechanisms that must be explored to overcome barriers to achieving AFHS-LHS integration are suggested including quality metrics, payment models, reimbursement models and investment in electronic health records.
