Sustentabilidade nos Centros Urbanos: questões sobre habitações populares e o caso de Ponta Grossa (PR).

Current paper analyzes the housing panorama in Brazil and focuses on social houses within the context of irregular occupation. Profound issues may be evidenced which are produced by environmental impact of such occupations on the sustainability of urban centers and the occurrence of urban dispersion and exclusion of the population. The importance of public policies is highlighted that aims at changing such reality to materialize the right to the city included in the Brazilian Constitution. A quality-quantity research has been undertaken on bibliographic and documental review on habitational deficit detected by the Fundação João Pinheiro (FJP) for the year 2019, selected through a case study on the occupation of the area known as Arroio do Padre in Ponta Grossa PR Brazil. A survey was obtained on the Brazilian habitational issue which revealed the interference of the scene in the sustainability of urban centers. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
