The article discusses on dangers of history. Topics include decision of the San Francisco Unified School District, public school district within the City and County of San Francisco, for renaming the forty-four of its schools; a broadening of historical interest and, at the same time, a shallowing of that interest; and history of republicanism with risk of failure of civic education and self knowledge.
