Broflanilide, a negative allosteric modulator of γ-aminobutyric acid (GABA)-gated chloride channel, is a novel diamide insecticide. It was mainly used for the control of lepidoptera and coleopteran pests at present, and it also exhibited high insecticidal activity against termites and flies. In this paper, the structure type, research process, mechanism of action, insecticidal activities, safety, and metabolic residue of broflanilide were mainly reviewed.
