Abstract

The article is a summary of the reliability and stability of Minnesota Multiphasic Personality Inventory (MMPI) scales. When any psychological test is published, it is important to report psychometric properties, such as reliability and stability. As the test gains in popularity and is incorporated into research programs, independently derived empirical evidence for these properties accumulates. MMPI is an example of this process. The inclusion in the data base of subjects of both genders, from a wide range of populations, leads the authors to believe that their estimates are representative of the populations for which the MMPI is used frequently.
