Trump's delay in filing the petition and the judge's delay in granting it meant that a Department of Justice filtering team (lawyers not assigned to the criminal investigation of Trump's handling of national-defense intelligence) had completed its review, segregating about 500 pages potentially covered by attorney - client privilege. As has been the case so often since Trump's emergence on the political scene, both Trump's friends and his enemies push us ever deeper into a downward spiral - with Bannon often the catalyst.
