Abstract

This case report highlights serious permanent sequelae of a malpositioned levonorgestrel intrauterine device. Initial cervical injury resulted in fistula formation and large hematoma eventually requiring hysterectomy. Uterine depth less than 5.5 cm should prompt timely evaluation, and immediate replacement is not advised when there is concern for injury. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
