Abstract

HIV infection and rheumatic skin diseases (RSSs) are both states of immune dysregulation. HIV infection, antiretroviral therapy (ART), and immune reconstitution inflammatory syndrome are factors that may favour or prevent the development of RSS in people living with HIV/AIDS (PLWHA).1,2 However, the population-level data are scarce. Although the association between other systemic diseases and HIV/AIDS is well established,4,5 there is a lack of large studies investigating RSSs in HIV/AIDS. [Extracted from the article]
