Abstract

The article talks about the digitization of textile production through the Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT). It highlights that the IIoT market in 2020 was $761 billion and is expected to reach ~$1.39 trillion by 2026. The implementation of IIoT in textile production requires three essential steps: identification of a practical case, development of pilot applications, and scaling up. A practical case carried out by the Computer Center Textile Vernetzt is mentioned, which uses a Windows 2019 server and a Windows Hyper-V visualization platform. Karl Mayer STOLL's digital machinery and its Production Planning System (PPS) are also mentioned, which allows for the control and optimization of textile production. The importance of following IoT implementation phases and the modular integration of virtualization technologies and container applications is emphasized. [Extracted from the article]
