Criticisms regarding the functioning of the Church s justice system has led to an in-depth study of pre-trial activities from the dual perspective of prevention and preparation, as there is an increasingly urgent need for special attention to be paid to both the prevention of litigation and the preparation of trials in the canonical sphere. Initially, the context and the elements considered indispensable are identified and then the topic of pre-trial activities in the matrimonial, administrative and penal spheres is analysed. The pre-trial phase of pre-trial activities, if adequately prepared, represents a fundamental step that would enable the implementation of a justice that is conducive to charity, mercy and the truth of the facts, which are the subject of the conflict.
